USYS/MSYSA Recreation Soccer Age Limit Clarification
MSYSA and USYS are governed by US Soccer. As a member of these governing bodies, CBGC must comply with the rules and regulations of US Soccer, MSYSA, and USYS.
Jr. Pee Wee Division:
Players must be 3 years and 6 months of age by April 1st (For the Fall Season) and as of Jan 1st (For the Spring Season). At the Jr. PW Division players will develop the motor skills and the learn the basic fundamentals of the game. Players in this division will practice twice a week with sessions lead by volunteer coach and will have games on weekends against other soccer organizations.
Intramural Clinton Development League (ICDL): The in-house development Program is where all players between the ages of 5 to 7 starts. This is where players whom are beginners or still building their skill sets to prepare for competition at the 6U county level.
It is our only in-house program, and the focus of the program is on having fun, being active, and learning soccer skills. Players have one to two practices each week and games tentatively on Saturdays (with occasionally Sunday)
County Level: 6U and Older: The CBGC Soccer Program places teams in the Prince George’s County Boys & Girls Club league (PGCBGC). PGCBGC hosts teams for players aged 5 and older (U6 and up) during the spring and fall seasons. Players have two practices each week and games are played on both Saturday and Sunday. Tryouts will take place during March for 6U Competitive County Teams. Refer to the tryout schedule below.

Academy Level 8U and Older: The CBGC Academy program places teams in various leagues across the DMV. The leagues are home to both all-boys and all-girls teams aged 8 and older (U8 and up) during the spring and fall season. Teams will have the opportunity, based on season, to attend a minimum of one tournament to introduce the next level tier (travel) for players and parents. There are additional cost for tournaments, secondary uniforms kits that will be added to player accounts if selected for an academy level team
Travel Level: The Clinton Boys and Girls Club (CBGC) travel soccer program is a competitive level of youth soccer. Levels of competition depend on the league played in and the division. Levels range from competitive with modest skills to highly competitive. Teams are formed through a process of tryouts by coaches or may be formed directly by CBGC as the need exists. CBGC participates in the EDP league for travel team.
All travel teams demand a great level of commitment from both players and their parents. Travel players should expect more intense training, longer traveling to games and tournaments, and higher team fees. Players are expected to attend ALL games and all practices - accounting for illness, school requirements, and so on.

Practice Schedule
Practices are days are determined by each team once assigned at minimum 2 days per week.. Practices are 60 to 90 minutes depending on the age of the players and generally start at 6:00pm or 6:30pm.
Coaches
All coaches are volunteers, regardless of experience. Coaches receive training and are eligible for licensing, with many coaches already holding significant experience or license levels.
