Flag Football League Overview

Welcome to CBGC Flag Football!

Flag Football enables players to enjoy the sport of football without the aspect of tackling. The purpose of CBGC's flag football program is to provide an opportunity for the participants to have fun, learn the sport and develop life skills including a lifelong love of the game.

AGE DIVISIONS
4U (3 to 4 years old)
6U (5 to 6 years old)
8U (7 to 8 years old)
10U (9 to 10 years old)
12U (11 to 12 years old)
14U (13 to 14 years old)

* Players are rostered based on age as of January 1st of current year

SPORTS SEASONS
Spring - March through June/early July

REGISTRATION
Registration for Spring is opening early October

PRACTICE AND GAMES
The game locations are determined by the League and not by CBGC. All games will be played in the Prince George's County area.
Practices are held M/W for 4u -6U, M/W/Th for 8U-10U and M-F for 12u -14u

GEAR REQUIRED
Registration fee includes: a Jersey and shorts for every player to keep. Flags will be provided and must be returned at the end of the season.

Mouthpieces, cleats, and the required soft-shell helmets (color: black) are the player's responsibility.

HEAD COACHES
Volunteer coaches are needed for every team. Please consider volunteering as head coach when registering your child.

Head Coaches are asked to attend a coaches meeting before the season starts and will receive pertinent information on the season. Coaches will sign up for their practice time from available times and locations.
Criminal Background Check, ASEP and Abuse Prevention training Required

ASSISTANTS AND OTHER NEEDS
We are also in need of parents that are willing to assistant coach or be time/score keeper from time to time. These volunteers do not receive credit as the head coach does but we appreciate their willingness to step in and serve.

2023 Spring Flag Football

Our football program is designed for players of all skill levels. Our goal is to teach the game of football in an environment where teamwork, sportsmanship, fun and love of the game is emphasized.

The program is divided into different levels, based upon the player’s age/grade in the upcoming school year.

Flag: The flag division is divided into separate "even" age groups. 4u, 6u,8u,10u,12u,14u

NEW REQUIREMENT: SOFT SHELL HELMETS. (Purchase required by parents)

PRACTICE AND GAMES

The game locations are determined by the League and not by CBGC. All games will be played in the Prince George's County and or Fairfax County, VA area.

Practices are held either Monday/Wednesday/Friday or Tuesday/Thursday/Friday from 6:00pm to 7:45pm. (@ the coach's discretion the final practice days may vary.)
